On a Personal Note

It has been nearly a month since my last post. I have had a very rough month. My dad lost his battle with cancer on April 3rd. He was very brave through the whole terrible ordeal. He was such a wonderful man. He was my dad, my friend,  he was the one I looked up to & he was one of my biggest fans.

He was so excited when I told him I was going to get a booth at the antique mall right around the corner from his house.  As sick as he was, all he wanted to do was help me get set up. Sadly he never got the chance to see my booth in person. By the time I was all set up, he was to sick to see it with his own eyes.  A week before he passed, I did have him sit down to his computer & had him read my blog & showed him the pictures of some of the pieces I have in my booth.  You could tell he was so proud, even as he struggled for the right words I could tell he was proud of me.

He was always amazed at how I could transform a piece of furniture. He'd always say to me "Oh Honey, that looks beautiful. I don't know how you do it." My Painted Stuff is starting to take off now & I can't help but wonder if he is somehow doing what he can for me from heaven that he wasn't able to do for me before he passed.  I like to think so.

I miss him terribly but I know he's in a better place & he's no longer in any pain. Now when I finish a piece I can still hear his voice telling me how beautiful it turned out & I know he's watching me from heaven.

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I know how you feel because I just lost my dad at the end of Feb.

Your furniture is looking great and as soon as I have a free moment I'll check your booth out.
